We are happy to offer extended hours for people that work on Tuesdays from 2 PM - 6 PM. We are still open at 10 AM for commodities (food, diapers, cleaning items, personal care, etc.) and to take phone calls, and make appointments. Appointments for everyone else will begin at 12:15 PM through 2 PM and or as needed. We strive to meet the needs of our neighbors experiencing a financial crisis as quickly as possible. If calling after hours, please leave a message to be called back in the order received.
We do not have income limits when providing assistance, however a financial crisis or need must be evident by the required documentation needed for an appointment. Many folks that are working are underemployed and struggling to make ends meet. These folks may not think of BFIA as an option because they work. It is always worth a phone call to see if you or someone you know may be eligible for assistance when having a financial crunch, an emergent or unexpected need, an illness that caused missed days at work, and various other types of crises.
BFIA wants to support those that work when they need it most. We also want to give a hand up to those that are looking for gainful employment and or education. We have wonderful community partners that also support working folks or that want to find work. It is our goal and hope that these new extended hours will be helpful to people that otherwise could not make it during the day due to not being able to leave work.
