Types of Referral

 

Here at BFIA we can help with referrals for drug or alcohol abuse, education, job placement, and violence or abusive situations.

 

Who can qualify for assistance?

 

Services are available to residents of Bristol VA, Bristol TN, Blountville, Bluff City and some portions of Piney Flats.

  • Utilities & Rent
  • Mortgage payment
  • Prescription assistance (no narcotics)
  • Food, diapers, personal hygiene items
  • Debt/Budget counseling
  • Free Medical Care
  • Referrals for drug or alcohol abuse
  • Referrals for education placement
  • Referrals for job placement
  • Referrals for violence/abusive situations

     

    What to bring...

     

  • Clients must provide photo I.D.
  • Social Security cards for every member of the household.
  • For Utility assistance, a copy of your delinquent bill or bill due within 4-5 days
  • For housing assistance, a copy of lease and landlord's name, address, telephone number, and proof of property ownership for individual landlords.
  • For prescription assistance, client must provide prescription or empty bottle for refillable prescription.
